May katibayan dapat itong “certificate, contract, instruments, whether written or electronic in character.”

Rufa Mae Quinto, the Filipino actress and comedian, has confirmed that she spent the night at the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) headquarters. This comes after she voluntarily surrendered to the authorities earlier in the day, in connection with a case filed against her by several investors who claim they were victims of an investment scam involving the beauty clinic, Dermacare. According to Quinto, she was able to relax and get some rest during her overnight stay, saying “Naka-relax alo kasi nakatulog ako dahil wala pa akong tulog sa… Saan ba? Sa buyang”.
Quinto’s lawyer, Atty. Mary Louise Reyes, had arranged for her voluntary surrender to the NBI, and the actress was accompanied by her legal team throughout the process. However, due to the business hours of the NBI, the bail process was not completed, and Quinto was required to spend the night at the headquarters. The bail amount for each of the 14 cases filed against her is PHP126,000, totaling PHP1.7 million. Despite the challenges she is facing, Quinto was able to joke and laugh with her lawyer, who was helping her get dressed, with the actress quipping “Hindi naman. Kadarating ko lang kaya wala akong outfit”.
During an interview, Quinto also addressed the visible bruises on her chin and neck, explaining that she had passed out due to stress and high blood pressure. She attributed the incident to the intense scrutiny she has been under, saying “Na-pass out ako kasi nga nahilo ako. Parang na-stress. Na-high blood. Kasi tiningnan nila, e. Quinto’s lawyer has maintained that the actress is innocent and a victim of circumstances, stating that she was only an endorser of the beauty clinic and did not solicit any investments from the complainants.
The case against Quinto is based on the Securities Regulation Code, which prohibits the sale or distribution of securities without a registration statement from the Securities and Exchange Commission. Dermacare, the beauty clinic at the center of the controversy, is not registered to sell securities, and Quinto’s involvement with the company has landed her in hot water. Despite the challenges ahead, Quinto remains optimistic and is determined to clear her name. Her lawyer has expressed confidence in her innocence, saying “My client is a victim…”.
Quinto’s voluntary surrender to the NBI has been seen as a positive step, demonstrating her willingness to cooperate with the authorities and face the charges against her. The actress has been open about her experiences and has used her platform to raise awareness about the importance of being cautious when dealing with investments and securities. As the case against her unfolds, Quinto’s fans and supporters will be watching closely, hoping for a positive outcome.
The incident has also highlighted the importance of thorough research and due diligence when it comes to investments and securities. The Securities and Exchange Commission has warned the public about the risks of investing in unregistered securities, and Quinto’s case serves as a reminder of the potential consequences of getting involved with unscrupulous companies. As the investigation continues, it is essential for the public to remain vigilant and cautious when dealing with investments and securities.
In the meantime, Quinto will continue to face the challenges ahead, determined to clear her name and move forward. Her fans and supporters will be watching closely, hoping for a positive outcome and a return to her usual self. Despite the difficulties she is facing, Quinto remains optimistic, and her sense of humor and resilience will undoubtedly serve her well in the days ahead.
The case against Quinto has sparked a wider conversation about the importance of accountability and transparency in the entertainment industry. As a public figure, Quinto’s actions and decisions are under scrutiny, and her involvement with Dermacare has raised questions about the responsibility of celebrities to their fans and the public. While Quinto’s lawyer has maintained that she is innocent, the incident has highlighted the need for celebrities to be mindful of their endorsements and associations.
As the investigation continues, it is essential for the public to remain informed and up-to-date on the latest developments. The case against Quinto serves as a reminder of the potential risks and consequences of getting involved with unscrupulous companies, and the importance of thorough research and due diligence when it comes to investments and securities. By staying informed and vigilant, the public can make informed decisions and avoid potential pitfalls.
