Vice Ganda will no longer host ‘PGT’ for the return of ‘GGV?’

Fans of Vice Ganda may soon rejoice as rumors of the return of ‘Gandang Gabi, Vice’ (GGV) continue to circulate.

The popular weekend talk show, which ran for nine years, has been off the air for five years but could soon make a highly anticipated comeback.

In a recent episode of Ogie Diaz’s ‘Showbiz Update’ vlog, co-hosts Mama Loi and Tita Jegs discussed the buzz surrounding Vice Ganda’s future projects. Ogie confirmed that while ‘Pilipinas Got Talent’ (PGT) is set to return, Vice Ganda will not be part of the judging panel this time around.

“Si Vice Ganda na hindi na raw magdya-judge sa PGT kasi nga pinaplano na ang pagbabalik ng GGV o ‘Gandang Gabi, Vice’,” Ogie revealed.

The revival of PGT will reportedly proceed with a new panel of judges. Vice previously served as a judge on the talent show alongside Robin Padilla, Mr. Freddie M. Garcia, and Angel Locsin.

According to Ogie, ABS-CBN may be planning to bring back ‘GGV’ to capitalize on the current trend of celebrity interviews.

“Kung mapapansin mo, nauuso na ngayon mga interbyuhan. Baka gustong isabay ng ABS-CBN ‘yun. At ito ang in ngayon at funny pa na si Vice Ganda ang mag-i-interview. Balik natin ang GGV,” Ogie said.

Mama Loi echoed this sentiment, pointing out that Vice has hinted at the show’s return on social media.

“Saka madalas tinatanong ‘yan ni Meme sa mga post niya na, ‘Gusto n’yo na bang magbalik ang GGV?’ May clamor kumbaga. Maraming nagtatanong sa kanya kung kelan magkakaroon ulit,” Mama Loi said.

Ogie also reminisced about the show’s fun segments and stunts.

“Saka may mga gimik din kasi ang GGV, di ba? Exciting ‘yan. Ako parati kong pinanonood ang GGV,” he added.

If ‘GGV’ does return, Vice Ganda could be on television every day of the week. He currently hosts ‘It’s Showtime’ from Monday to Saturday, and ‘GGV’ would take the Sunday slot.

“Partida ‘yan wala pang prangkisa,” Ogie quipped, referencing ABS-CBN’s ongoing franchise issues.

Fans eagerly await confirmation of GGV’s comeback. With the demand for the show’s return growing, many are hopeful that Vice Ganda will soon light up Sunday nights once again.

The Philippine entertainment landscape is abuzz with speculation following reports that Vice Ganda, the undisputed queen of Philippine television, will no longer be hosting “It’s Showtime’s” popular segment, “Pinoy Henyo.” While no official statement has been released by ABS-CBN, the rumor mill is churning, fueled by whispers of a potential return of the iconic talk show, “Gandang Gabi Vice” (GGV). The connection between these two seemingly disparate events has sparked a wave of discussion among fans and industry insiders alike, leaving many wondering about the future of Vice Ganda’s television career and the implications for both shows.

The absence of Vice Ganda from “Pinoy Henyo,” a segment he has helmed with infectious energy for years, is a significant development. He has been a cornerstone of “It’s Showtime,” injecting his inimitable brand of humor and wit into the daily program. His presence has become synonymous with the show’s success, drawing in significant viewership and solidifying its position as a dominant force in daytime television. His departure from this specific segment, therefore, is not a trivial matter; it signals a potential shift in his overall role within the program, prompting speculation about his future involvement.

The most prominent theory circulating online revolves around the possible return of “Gandang Gabi Vice.” The talk show, which enjoyed a long and successful run, provided a platform for Vice Ganda to showcase his versatility as a host, interviewer, and comedian. Its cancellation left a void in the entertainment landscape, with many fans yearning for its return. The timing of the “Pinoy Henyo” news, coinciding with persistent rumors of GGV’s revival, has led many to connect the two events, suggesting that Vice Ganda’s shift in focus within “It’s Showtime” might be to free up his schedule for a potential comeback of his solo show.

The potential return of “Gandang Gabi Vice” holds significant implications for the Philippine entertainment industry. The show was known for its unique blend of humor, heartfelt conversations, and celebrity interviews. It provided a platform for artists to showcase their personalities beyond their usual on-screen personas, creating a space for intimate and revealing discussions. Moreover, GGV consistently delivered high ratings, proving its popularity and appeal to a wide audience. Its revival would not only satisfy the demand from loyal fans but also potentially boost the network’s overall programming.

However, the revival of “Gandang Gabi Vice” is not without its challenges. The television landscape has changed significantly since the show’s last airing. The rise of social media and streaming platforms has altered viewing habits and created new avenues for entertainment consumption. The show’s producers would need to adapt to these changes, incorporating new elements and formats to remain relevant and engaging to a contemporary audience. A successful revival would require a strategic approach that balances nostalgia with innovation.

The decision regarding Vice Ganda’s future television engagements is likely a complex one, involving negotiations and careful consideration of various factors. His immense popularity and influence within the entertainment industry undoubtedly play a crucial role in the decision-making process. His schedule, creative vision, and personal preferences would also be key considerations. The network, too, would need to weigh the potential benefits and drawbacks of both scenarios, considering the impact on both “It’s Showtime” and the proposed revival of “Gandang Gabi Vice.”

Furthermore, any changes to Vice Ganda’s television presence would inevitably affect his brand endorsements and other business ventures. His immense popularity makes him a highly sought-after endorser, and his schedule directly impacts his ability to fulfill these commitments. Any adjustments to his television commitments would require careful planning to minimize disruption to these important aspects of his career. The network would need to consider these ramifications when making any decisions regarding his future roles.

The rumour also invites speculation about the overall strategy of ABS-CBN in terms of its programming. The network is constantly evaluating its shows and making adjustments based on viewer preferences and market trends. The potential shift in Vice Ganda’s role might be part of a broader strategy to revitalize its programming lineup and cater to the evolving demands of its audience. The decision, therefore, should be viewed within the larger context of the network’s overall programming strategy.

The situation highlights the dynamic nature of the Philippine entertainment industry and the constant evolution of television programming. The decisions made by Vice Ganda and ABS-CBN will have significant repercussions, affecting the landscape of daytime television and shaping the future of popular entertainment in the Philippines. The wait for an official announcement remains filled with anticipation and speculation, as fans eagerly await confirmation of the rumors and the implications for their favorite comedian and the shows he graces with his presence.

In conclusion, the swirling rumors surrounding Vice Ganda’s future television endeavors are more than mere speculation. They represent a significant moment in the Philippine entertainment industry, highlighting the complex interplay between artist, network, and audience. The potential shift in his role within “It’s Showtime” and the possibility of “Gandang Gabi Vice’s” return are intertwined narratives that hold significant implications for the future of both shows and the broader entertainment landscape. The next few weeks and months will undoubtedly bring clarity, revealing the ultimate decision and its impact on the hearts and screens of millions of Filipinos.
