BINI member Aiah Arceta took to social media to clarify her first-ever scuba diving experience after fans speculated about her being spotted with Kapuso actor Jak Roberto.
On January 10, Arceta shared an Instagram story showing her underwater adventure, which took place just before her flight to Egypt. While her post was meant to share a fun milestone, it sparked discussions online, with netizens pointing out Roberto’s repost of the story.
Some fans expressed concerns about diving before flying due to health risks, prompting Arceta to respond via X (formerly Twitter).
“Hey guys! I appreciate everyone’s concern! We did ask the instructor before diving, and I was told na I can but only for a super short time and a shallow dive. During my flight din, I didn’t feel anything naman, and I even had a great sleep haha so I am all good,” she wrote.
The Kapuso actor’s Instagram activity added fuel to the fire, with some netizens wondering if there was a special connection between Arceta and Roberto, especially after his recent public breakup with Barbie Forteza.
However, Arceta explained that she was with a group of friends and laughed off the rumors. In a reply to a fan on X, she said in Bisaya, “Yes, that’s the reason why I posted about it,” indicating her intention to stop the speculation.
The interaction sparked various reactions from netizens, with many defending Arceta and urging others not to jump to conclusions: “Pagkatapos ni Rico at Maloi, ito na naman kayo. Baka nagkasabay lang sa scuba diving.”
This comes after a similar issue involving BINI’s Maloi and singer Rico Blanco, who were linked due to photos from a La Union trip. Maloi had previously debunked the rumors.
Arceta has since deleted the Instagram story and is now sharing updates from Thailand. Meanwhile, Jak Roberto has not commented on the matter.
Both Arceta and Roberto have yet to release any formal statements, but supporters hope the speculations will die down soon.
