Veteran actors Aga Muhlach and Richard Gomez have embarked on a fitness journey that challenges the “dadbod” stereotype as part of Century Tuna’s #TheBestYouStartsNow campaign, aiming to inspire Filipinos to embrace healthier lifestyles at any age.
Under the guidance of Mauro Lumba, Century Tuna Superbods 2014 Grand Champion, the two seasoned stars are proving that self-improvement and wellness can begin at any stage of life.
After experiencing significant weight fluctuations during the pandemic, Aga Muhlach saw the campaign as an opportunity to refocus on self-care. The multi-awarded actor shared that he has already lost 50 pounds and is working hard to reach his ideal weight by the end of the year through regular exercise and a balanced diet.
“Just start now and do it slowly,” Aga advised. “There will be no instant gratification, and it’s not going to be easy because there will be failures along the way. But if you fail today, sleep. Tomorrow’s another day.”
For Richard Gomez, the campaign is a platform to inspire others to make health and fitness a priority. The actor and Ormoc City mayor shared that small, consistent steps have led to noticeable results in his fitness journey.
“Being healthy really involves a lot of diet, eating the right food, and doing the right exercises,” he said. “It’s not easy, but you just have to keep pushing yourself. Be consistent, be regular, and be constant.”
Richard revealed that since starting the campaign, his pants have become four inches looser, a testament to his hard work and dedication.
The campaign highlights Century Tuna’s commitment to promoting wellness and encouraging people to prioritize their health.
Carlo Endaya, Vice President and General Manager for Branded Tuna and Vita Coco Business at Century Pacific Food, Inc., emphasized the brand’s advocacy: “Century Tuna has always stood for bringing out the healthiest version of people. We want everyone to feel good about their journey to wellness. Richard and Aga’s involvement in the campaign is a testament that fitness knows no age. No matter what stage you are in life, it’s never too late to make a change.”
The #TheBestYouStartsNow campaign serves as a call to action for Filipinos to take charge of their well-being, regardless of their age or fitness level. With Aga Muhlach and Richard Gomez leading by example, the initiative underscores that the path to becoming the best version of oneself begins with a single step.
